Soft Shell Crab – For proper growth these crabs shed their shells regularly. This takes place once in a month and each molting result in around 33% growth. It is a well known fact that these types of crabs are cultivated only after they shed their shell and this has a major role to play in case you wish to indulge in fine dining and enjoy the actual taste of crab.
Mud Crab - Scylla serata or Mud Crab is usually found in low muddy waters (less than 1 metre and up to 30 metres). There are three different species commonly known as brown, green and purple.
Alaskan king crab – You can find these in three different varieties, namely brown, red and blue. Each one of these three species is found in different parts of Alaskan waters. But it is to be noted that most of the King crab is being harvested from the Bering Sea in Alaska. You can also find small fisheries in the southeast and to the north in Norton Sound.
